I began playing golf in Regina at age 14, then graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a degree in Corporate Finance while playing for the ASU Sun Devils Men's Varsity golf team. Turning Professional in 1987, I worked as an Assistant Professional in Trail, B.C., before moving to Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club. In 1992 I won the B.C. Assistants Championship at Seymour, and became Head Golf Professional in 1993. I have been acknowledged by the BCPGA as Junior Golf Promoter of the Year twice and Head Professional of the Year.

Lindy Miyashiro

CPGA Golf Professional

I grew up playing baseball from age 8 and began dabbling with golf at 17. Working in food and beverage at golf clubs gave me a true taste of the atmosphere and got me hooked on the game, leading me to pursue a career as a Golf Professional. I worked at several prestigious Calgary clubs including The Elks Club, Bears Paw, and Country Hills, where I served as Pro Shop Manager. I turned Professional in 1995 and began my professional career at McKenzie Meadows Country Club.

At age 6, I was introduced to golf by caddying for my father at the Calgary Elks Club. I started playing at age 11 and competing at age 12, out of Willow Park Golf Club in Calgary. I have been a Golf Professional for 30 years and a Class "A" member for 25. My first 4 years were spent at Calgary Elks Club, followed by ten years at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club. I then spent 3 years as Head Professional at Riverway Golf Course in Burnaby before joining Seymour in 2001.

My father was a scratch handicap and 3 time club champion at Calgary Golf and Country Club. He brought me into the game at the age of 4.  As a teenager I went to a week long Golf Digest school in Tuscon Arizona, where I was taught by Jack Nicklaus’  teacher, Mr. Jim Flick and the legendary Mr. Paul Runyan, Mr. John Elliot, Mr. Tom Ness.

After competing in amateur events for a few years I decided to turn professional in 2015, where I continue to compete. I really enjoy watching my students’ reactions when they have the experience of understanding and executing better golf through my coaching.

Trevor McLean

PGA of Canada, Assistant Professional

Born and raised in North Vancouver, I was introduced to golf at age 7 by my Dad and grew up playing at Murdo Fraser, Glen Eagles, and Northlands. As a teenager I discovered competitive golf in high school and began competing in Amateur tournaments across the Lower Mainland. At 20 I got a job at Seymour in the Backshop, and after a short period I was managing the Backshop Operation — a role I continue to this day, 10+ years later.
