Seymour Golf & Country Club is a cherished gathering place for generations of golfers, families and community members who share a passion for golf and the relationships built around it.

Seymour-Club History

Club History

Seymour Golf & Country Club was founded in 1953, when a group of North Vancouver residents established a course carved out of the surrounding wilderness. Much of that original forest still defines the layout today, with tight, tree-lined fairways and small, fast greens set across gently undulating terrain. Seymour has also built a strong reputation through its leadership and competitive history. In 1992, it became the first golf course in Canada to achieve Audubon certification, followed by the removal of gender-based membership restrictions in 1996. The club has hosted a number of notable events, including the CN Women’s Tour (2009), BC Amateur Championship (2014), Canadian Men’s Amateur (co-host, 2022), and Canadian Mid-Amateur Championship (2025), along with multiple industry awards recognizing excellence in golf operations.

TheClub-Course Design

Course Design & Heritage

Defined by tight, tree-lined fairways and carefully maintained conditions, Seymour offers a course where accuracy is essential. Its undulating greens add another layer of challenge, ensuring the course plays tougher than its length suggests. Originally designed by Eric Negus, it has been updated over time through renovations led by Canadian designer Ted Locke.

Seymour-Driving Range

Driving Range

Seymour’s driving range is designed for year-round use, with covered and heated stalls that make it just as usable in the winter as it is in peak season. Hitting surfaces alternate between turf and mats depending on the day and course conditions, with enough length for most players to comfortably hit every club in the bag. The adjoining instruction facility is equipped with TrackMan technology, offering detailed feedback for those looking to refine their game.

Seymour-The Club-Short Game Complex

Short Game Practice

Seymour’s short game complex is designed to reflect the shots that matter most on the course. A 10,000 sq. ft. putting green offers plenty of space to work on pace and read, while a dedicated chipping green and two target greens for pitching allow players to practice a full range of scoring shots. With practice bunkers integrated throughout, the area closely mirrors on-course conditions and gives players a place to build confidence around the greens.

Building Community Through Golf

Seymour is not only a community of members, but an active part of the broader North Shore and Lower Mainland. Through local partnerships, youth programs, and charitable initiatives, the club supports the people and organizations that make up the community. That commitment extends beyond the course, with ongoing efforts to create access to the game and to steward the natural environment that surrounds it.
