I began playing golf in Regina in 1978 at the age of 14. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a degree in Corporate Finance. I played for the ASU “Sun Devils” Men’s golf team between 1984 and 1986. Upon graduation in 1987 I turned Professional and worked as an Assistant Professional in Trail B.C.
I grew up playing baseball from the age of 8, and began to dabble with golf at the age of 17. I started working in the food and beverage industry at various golf clubs which gave me the opportunity to experience the true golf atmosphere and got me hooked on the game. It was then that I decided to pursue a career as a Golf Professional. I worked at many prestigious golf clubs in Calgary including, The Elks Club, Bears Paw, and Country Hills (Pro Shop Manager). I turned Professional in 1995 and began my professional career at McKenzie Meadows Country Club.
At the age of 6, I was introduced to golf through caddying for my father every weekend at the Calgary Elks Club. I started playing golf at age 11, and competitively at age 12. Playing out of the Willow Park Golf Club in Calgary, competitive golf became my life as I spent all my free hours through Grade School at the golf course.
I have now been a Golf Professional for 30 years, and a Class “A” member for 25 years. My first 4 years were spent at Calgary Elks Club, followed by a ten year spell at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club. I then spent 3 years as Head Professional at Riverway Golf Course in Burnaby, before moving on to Seymour in 2001.
I have more than two decades of experience in the golf industry and professional competition, and have the necessary knowledge and experience to enhance the game of every golfer, from beginner to professional.
My father was a scratch handicap and 3 time club champion at Calgary Golf and Country Club. He brought me into the game at the age of 4. As a teenager I went to a week long Golf Digest school in Tuscon Arizona, where I was taught by Jack Nicklaus’ teacher, Mr. Jim Flick and the legendary Mr. Paul Runyan, Mr. John Elliot, Mr. Tom Ness.

After competing in amateur events for a few years I decided to turn professional in 2015, where I continue to compete. I really enjoy watching my students’ reactions when they have the experience of understanding and executing better golf through my coaching.

Born and raised in North Vancouver, the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. I was introduced to golf at the age of 7 by my Dad and grew up playing locally at Murdo Fraser, Glen Eagles and Northlands. As a teenager I was introduced to competitive golf in high school and my love for the game flourished. I began competing in Amateur tournaments across the Lower Mainland and grew a strong connection to the game. At the age of 20 I got a job here at Seymour in the Backshop. After a short period I was managing the Backshop Operation and still do to this day, 10+ years later.
